Azerbaijan presents Nagorno-Karabakh symbol as national emblem at Abu Dhabo festival

Azerbaijan presented Nagorno-Karabakh’s (Artsakh) symbolic monument, We and Our Mountains, as its national emblem at the Abu Dhabi cultural heritage festival held annually in honor of Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Arcakh24.info reports.
 

The hilltop architectural masterpiece (author: Sargis Baghdasaryan), erected in capital Stepanakert in 1967, symbolizes the Artsakh people’s blood connection with their roots and historical fatherland. It is made of volcanic tufa.

The monument, traditionally referred to as Tatik-Papik (Grandma and Grandpa), depicts an elderly couple in folk costumes standing with an invincible posture. It is also portrayed on the Nagorno-Karabakh coat of arms.
