Paul McCartney set to work on musical stage adaptation of Christmas classic It's A Wonderful Life

Sir Paul McCartney has revealed he is working on a stage adaptation of Christmas classic It's A Wonderful Life.

The former Beatle, 77, is in the process of adapting Frank Capra’s iconic 1946 festive fantasy drama based on Philip Van Doren Stern’s short story, The Greatest Gift, for the stage, the Daily Mail reports.

As well as writing all of the music, he has teamed up with Tony Award-winning English writer Lee Hall, to write the lyrics, while theatre impresario Bill Kenwright will produce the show, which will hit the stage next year.
