Chinese ballet company to perform Aram Khachaturian’s Spartacus in Russia
The famous masterpiece by Aram Khachaturian is on the repertoire of a Chinese ballet company which is planning guest performances across Russia later this month.
Spartacus will mark the debut of the concert tour in the coty of Vladivostok on January 14, according to Tass.ru.
The ballet, written in 1954, tells about the uprising led by Spartacus for the freedom of captives (including himself) enslaved by Emperor Crassus. The Chinese dancers will also perform Mulan, a ballet featuring the story of a young girl who decides to defend her father in a heoric move of being be drafted into the army instead of him.
