Taylor Swift's gives ‘powerful comment’ to dad about why she had to get political

Back in October 2018, Taylor Swift did something that she'd always been "reluctant" to do.

The 30-year-old superstar took to social media to share her political opinions and encourage people in the US to go out and vote, Mirror reports.

In a post on Instagram , the singer wrote: "In the past I’ve been reluctant to publicly voice my political opinions, but due to several events in my life and in the world in the past two years, I feel very differently about that now."

She went on to reveal that she would be voting against Marsha Blackburn in the 2018 midterm elections, as Blackburn's voting record "appalls and terrifies" her.
