Armenia's second city on Forbes' must-see list of most beautiful places

Armenia's second largest city of Gyumri is on Forbes' list of the most beautiful places recommended to visit in the spring season to celebrate the Easter holidays.

The magazine attracts travellers՛ attention to the recently launched cheap airline routes which it says facilitate travel to the city ″finally stepping into the spotlight for more than just its association with the 1988 Spitak Earthquake.″

″Spring is a fantastic time to visit Gyumri as the harsh winters subside and flowers saturate the city as it prepares to celebrate Easter with juicy fruits and heaping plates of pilaf. Gyumri is home to hip cafes and concept shops like Konjelazia Tourism & Design, several cultural spaces, unique places to stay like Masters' House Bed & Bar and Loft Gyumri, and Armenia's most humorous locals,″ reads the report.  

The authors recommend visiting Gwoog Gastrohouse for a local taste, and trying Panrkhash their traditional food made of cheese and lavash. '

Also the unique houses of the city have caught a special spotlight.

Visitors are recommended to enjoy tasty tea at Herbs & Honey before checking out a show at the Alikhanyan Puppet Theater.
