'I would absolutely love to play Mare again': Kate Winslet opens up about the possibility of returning in Season 2 of Mare of Easttown
Following the buzzworthy finale of Mare of Easttown, series star Kate Winslet is opening up about the potential to return as the title character.
HBO has billed Mare of Easttown as a 'limited series,' meaning the show was not crafted to go multiple seasons, the Daily Mail reports.
While HBO hasn't officially said one way or another whether a new season will happen, Winslet, 45, revealed in an interview with TV Line that she would love to play Detective Mare Sheehan again.
“I would absolutely love to play Mare again. I miss her. I really do. It’s the strangest thing. I feel like I’m in mourning,” Winslet said.
HBO is still calling Mare of Easttown a limited series, and they intend to have it compete in the Limited Series category at the Emmy Awards this year.
