Բազմաթիվ պատմական կայարաններ են վերանորոգվել ու վերականգնվել վերջին տարիներին, որոնք այժմ ներկայացնում են հին ու նոր ոճերի ապշեցուցիչ համադրությունը, որի վառ ապացույցն է Ստրասբուրգի Gare de Strasbourg կայարանի ապակե ծածկը, որն ամբողջությամբ ծածկում է 1880-ականների կառույցը:

Ինչպես ներկայացնում է Daily Mail-ը` աշխարհի լավագույն գնացքի կայարանների թվում են հայտնվել Անտվերպենի Կենտրոնական կայարանը, որտեղ կիրառվել են մարմարի և քարի 20 տարբեր տեսակ և ճարտարապետական ոճերի իրական խափնաշփոթ, ինչպես նաև՝ Ճապոնիայի Կանազավա կայարանը, որը մեծ աղմուկ հանեց` բացվելով 2005-ին:
