Ասիայում մարդիկ պատրաստվում են հինդուիզմում հայտնի «Դիվալի» լույսի փառատոնին, որը մեկնարկում է այսօր, և ողջ տարածաշրջանը ներկվում է պայծառ գույներով:

Ինչպես ներկայացնում է Daily Mail-ը`5-օրյա տոնակատարությունները խորհրդանշում են բարու հաղթանակը չարի նկատմամբ, նոր սկիզբը և խավարից բացվող լույսը:

«Դիվալի» բառը թագմանվում է որպես «լամպերի շարան», որի համար էլ տոնակատարության մասնակիցները լուսավորում և զարդարում են իրենց տները լապտերներով, ծաղիկներով, մոմերով ու գունավոր էլեկտրական լամպերով:
