Տասնամյակներ շարունակ օդաչուները միակ հաջողակ մարդիկ էին, ովքեր հնարավորություն էին ունենում ականատեսը դառնալու «կարմիր ոգի» կոչվող բնական երևույթին:

Ինչպես ներկայացնում է Daily Mail-ը` լույսերի այս հազվադեպ բռնկումը տևում է մի քանի միլիվայրկյան միայն և տեղի է ունենում Երկրից ավելի քան 80 կմ բարձունքներում ամպրոպի ժամանակ:

32-ամյա լուսանկարիչ Մարկո Կորոսեչին հաջողվել է հավերժացնել դա` ամիսներ շարունակ փոթորիկների հետևելով Իտալիայի Վիվարո շրջանում:

Լույսի անհավանական փայլն առաջանում երկնքում կայծակի խոշոր էլեկտրական արտանետումների պատճառով, իսկ լույսերն իրենց մուգ կարմիր գույնն ստանում են օդում առկա ազոտի մոլեկուլներից:

For decades, airline pilots were the only people lucky enough to catch sight of an incredible natural phenomenon known as red sprites. Now one photographer has managed to capture this elusive light after spending months on the road following storms in Vivaro, Italy

Marko Korosec, 32, managed to capture the rare pictures whilst standing in a corn field, over 200 miles (320km) away from the phenomenon. Mr Korosec, from Sezana in Slovenia, said: ‘I've been trying to capture them for few months now. I was very happy with the results, the details of the sprites came out pretty impressively'

The incredible flashes of light are caused by huge electrical discharges of lightning in the sky, and they get their deep red hue from nitrogen molecules in the air. Pictured is the lightning storm where the sprites were seen

Red sprites can be can be seen in the D region of the ionosphere. This is the area of the atmosphere just above the dense lower atmosphere, about 37 to 56 miles (60 km to 90 km) above the Earth. Pictured is a lightning storm occurring in Italy close to where the red sprites where pictured
